Ferrules at the terminal-block interface

Selection for LH-F06 starts with entry into a terminal block. All strands should enter the ferrule sleeve before the formed end is inserted into an appropriate terminal. The ferrule organizes the conductor end; it does not replace the terminal’s clamping mechanism. Distinguish single and twin ferrules. A twin arrangement requires an accepted conductor combination and suitable entry geometry, not just a calculation of total wire area.

Connection and selection boundaries

LH-F06 selection starts with the ferrule metal sleeve. Review wire, ferrule and receiving terminal together before choosing the profile and tooling. Distinguish single and twin ferrules; the combined conductor area alone does not establish a twin-ferrule pairing.

Pre-insulated ring or fork terminals, open-barrel terminals and machined contacts have different forming requirements. Do not apply ferrule pairing rules to them. Confirm entry of the formed end in the actual assembly.

Preparing repeated panel terminations

For short panel wires, organize cut lengths by circuit or terminal section, confirm stripping and then form the ends. Plan wire-marker installation before fitting ferrules that may prevent the marker from sliding over the end. Inspect for displaced strands, trapped insulation and excessive exposed metal. Do not crush or trim a formed ferrule to force it into an unsuitable terminal opening.

From preparation to assembly

This sequence organizes the task. Use paired component and tool documents for positioning, cycle and acceptance conditions.

  1. Identify parts: record wire, ferrule and terminal part numbers; establish accepted conductor combinations and forming profiles.
  2. Prepare the end: set strip length from component instructions; check lost, cut or splayed strands and fit wire markers first.
  3. Insert the ferrule: capture all strands inside the sleeve and check insulation position; leave no strands outside.
  4. Position and form: locate the metal sleeve in the instructed working area and complete the cycle. The plastic entry is not the conductor crimp area.
  5. Inspect and assemble: examine the formed end, perform required checks, then insert and secure it in the receiving terminal.

Building the pairing

List LH-F06 together with the stripper, ferrule and terminal-block requirements. For repeated assembly, retain wire and ferrule part numbers and sample results. Revisit insertion and retention when the ferrule source or wire construction changes.

Completion checklist

Review appearance, pairing and final assembly separately, with an inspection basis for each step.

  2. The stripped conductor is intact with no strands outside.
  3. The conductor is seated and the plastic entry is undamaged.

Prepare an initial wire-ferrule-terminal assembly for each circuit group. Confirm entry and fastening before repeating the same part numbers and process. A different sleeve length, strand construction or terminal calls for another review. This keeps wire preparation, termination and panel assembly connected to the same record.

Not by the sum alone. Check the allowed conductor combination, sleeve shape, forming profile and terminal entry.
