Prepare an even end for stripping
LH-C32 addresses copper and aluminum cable cutting. Keep the cable stable in the intended cutting area instead of twisting it as the blade closes. With stranded cable, a distorted end affects stripping and terminal insertion as well as appearance. Outside diameter alone does not establish material suitability; identify steel reinforcement, armor and other components separately.
Controlling alignment through the cut
Ratchet cutting advances incrementally, but the workpiece still needs stable alignment. Unusual resistance calls for release and investigation by the tool instructions, not improvised handle extensions or twisting. Support the cut cable so a falling free end does not pull on existing terminations.
