A profile describes the formed section
Square and hexagonal describe the formed metal sleeve cross-section, not collar color or wire gauge. They affect contact geometry and entry clearance. Associate the profile with the specified ferrule and terminal combination rather than treating one shape as universal.

Review entry and clamping separately
Entry clearance and clamping after insertion are related but distinct. Review sleeve length, collar diameter and formed section. An end that fits still needs an accepted conductor and ferrule combination; forcing it into the opening is not a compatibility check.
Twin ferrules need a defined combination
Use a twin ferrule approved for the wire combination and establish terminal entry and clamping conditions. Summing conductor areas alone does not address insulation shape or strand arrangement. Do not remove strands to fit an extra conductor into a single ferrule.
Build a specific pairing record
Record terminal, wire, ferrule, tool and preparation conditions, then review representative samples. Compare later changes against that record. LH-F06 introduces the ferrule task; LH-A01 explains accessory classification and stock organization.
