Check profile separately from size
Press-jaw profile and size are separate selection inputs. Pipe diameter alone does not establish suitability; the fitting family and matched tooling documentation are also needed.
Use system-specific inspection information
Connection verification varies by system. Use the fitting manufacturer instructions rather than applying a check from a different joining method.
Two distinct product families
LH-P16 addresses copper pressing and LH-X20 PEX copper-ring crimping. Check fitting family, dimensions, accessories and service media separately for each connection system.
Nominal size and actual fit
Piping information may use nominal inch sizes, metric outside diameters or system-specific names. Do not interchange numbers directly. Retain the original dimension system and list tubing, fitting, ring and die together. Interpret a tool marking within its specified joining system.
Standards address different objects
PEX tubing, fittings and complete systems have distinct requirements. F876 addresses tubing; F1807 and F2159 concern insert fittings of different materials; F2098 and F1960 relate to different joining constructions. Include installation sequence in tool selection
Walls, valves, supports and adjacent pipes can block jaws or handles. Assembly order changes that access. Review the complete branch sequence before arranging the tool at each joint. Visual, gauge and system tests serve different purposes and should not substitute for one another.
